Survival Mode Hack Using Cheat Engine
The Depot Hack was patched on April 12, 2012. Here is another hack to take its place. Better take advantage of it before it's patched as well!
The Survival Mode Hack has been around for a while, but was never as well-known as the Depot Hack. However, it has been spreading very quickly in the last week, and even more now that the Depot Hack has been patched.
The Survival Mode Hack is better than the Depot Hack in that the newly created units are sent to your inventory rather than your depots. If you want to place them in your depots, that's a choice you have. Another advantage is that you don't have to wait for source units to be built in your military buildings. One con is that you need lots of source units to create many new units. Another con is that you can only create five new units at a time before you have to repeat steps.
The essence of this hack is to transform military units you use in Survival Mode into other units or even into other items. It is essential that you have ZERO of the item you want to transform into in your inventory, depots, or empire. For this reason, some people call this hack the "Zero Hack". It is okay to have the units in your Marketplace. However, note that Tier 8 units cannot be placed in the Marketplace.
This hack can be done using Cheat Engine or Charles Proxy. As far as I know, if you use Cheat Engine, you can only transform to other military units that have codes of the same length; you can only transform to other units of the same theater (land to land, sea to sea, air to air); and you cannot make items that are not military units. You can avoid all these limitations by using Charles Proxy.
This article is for Cheat Engine only. There will be an article in the future on how to do this hack using Charles Proxy.
WARNING: If you make a mistake, be prepared to surrender and pay a ransom or finish Survival Mode! The most common mistake is to have items that you want to create already in your inventory, depots, or empire. (Yes, you can CE your way out of the ransom.)
Step 1 - Preparation
As an example, I will demonstrate how to create the new Artemis Infantry from Tactical ATV's. You do not have to use Tactical ATV's. You can use other units, but you need to know their codes.
You should have:
- NO Artemis in your inventory, depot, or empire.
- Many Tactical ATV's available for battle (or other units if you know their code)
Step 2 - Set Up Cheat Engine
Set up Cheat Engine by using the button in the upper left to select the process belonging to your browser. For most browsers, you select the process that has a similar name to the browser's name. Firefox is an exception. For Firefox, select the process that contains the phrase "plugin-container". In the image below, you can see that I selected the process "000021EC-plugin-container.exe".
Step 3 - Set Up Survival Mode
Enter Survival Mode. Select at least one Tactical ATV to use for battle, but it's better to use five. DO NOT press the red "Fight!" button yet!
Step 4 - Transform Code
Next, change the "Value Type" to "Text". In the "Text" field, enter "SU03" (this is the code for a Tactical ATV) WITH quotation marks. Hit "New Scan" then "First Scan". The results will show up in the box on the left side.
Highlight all the results (select the first one, hold down shift, then either press the "End" key or keep hitting "Page Down"). Hit the red arrow button to move the results to the bottom box. Highlight all the results in the bottom box (select one of the entries by left-click and then hit Ctrl-A). Hit the Enter key. In the pop-up, enter "UM43" (this is the code for Artemis Infantry) WITH quotation marks.
This is what Cheat Engine looks like after you've done all this:Step 5 - Transform Units
Now press the red "Fight!" button. If you did things correctly, the battle will not proceed. Instead, you will see this:
Step 6 - Repeat and Refresh
Repeat steps 3-5 if you want to transform more units. However, each time you do this, the units you used will no longer be available until you refresh the game. Therefore, if you want to create many of the same units, you will need many source units (they don't all have to be the same type) to transform before you refresh the game.
When you are done, exit Survival Mode. If you check your inventory, the new units might not be there yet. Refresh the game. The new units should be there now, and the old units you used for the hack should be back. It might take minutes for the new units to appear, so be patient.
If you want to create units that can be placed in the Marketplace and you have some in your empire or inventory, you can temporarily place those units in your Marketplace. (Tier 8 units cannot be placed in the Marketplace.) The Survival Mode Hack will then work. You run the risk of someone buying your units from the Marketplace, so be careful.
